Each of the homes that were entered in the awards this year were a testament to the level of emphasis the team at evermore place on getting the detail and the design right first, continuing through to the quality workmanship of the trades on site.  With now securing 11 HIA awards since 2007, the consistent level of quality homes that evermore have produced over the years and continues to fashion “ is rewarding recognition to be awarded by our peers in the industry” says Luke Maguire,  Managing Director of evermore.    “The big one for us this year was winning in the Renovation category, due to our main focus to date being design and constructing new homes, to be recognised that we are capable of both genres, this was a fantastic accolade” says Luke.

The renovation project was given a magical transformation. Positioned in a demolition control precinct the clients presented us with a house straddled over 2 lots and had plans to move the existing house over to the left side of the block, renovate the existing residence and build a new home on the vacant Lot. The home was transformed from a rabbit warren style original Queenslander to an open plan haven with the main living areas on the lower level, leading seamlessly through the living & dining spaces to the alfresco dining area to the rear.  An intelligent and extensive use of glass and stacker doors ensured plenty of cross ventilation and fresh breezes allowing a pleasant outlook over the low maintenance landscaped gardens and inviting refurbished inground pool which was not forgotten about and received a full remodel to match the new and improved sophisticated Queenslander.

 The awards held by Australia’s peak industry body for residential construction, renovation and development recognise the achievements of the housing industry, as it leads the way in the design, construction, innovation and housing technology.

Modern design is all about clean lines and functionality and modern construction techniques.  The clever use of materials provides both of these to your outdoor spaces.  The design team at evermore  focus on the outdoor areas ensuring great options from the outset by taking into consideration the orientation of the site, the position of the pool, the use of the correct materials that will compliment the house and the connection with the house due to our favourable summer climate and conditions to ensure best use all year round.   Modern outdoor designs are all about multi-use for single spaces. You want to be able to convert a space for other uses, especially as the seasons change. Unfortunately, many outdoor areas are abandoned during winter, but with a bit of forethought you can have a multi-season, multi-use, modern outdoor area.

The success of our focus on these areas is evident with now being a finalist in the HIA awards for the last two years for the clever incorporation of an outdoor areas that compliment our homes so well to suit the Queensland climate as well as the individual families needs.  Evermore was again finalist for the Outdoor project of the year 2011 in the HIA awards for a project completed in Hawthorne.

The home at Hawthorne integrated in their outdoor space a lap pool built 1.2m out of ground with two panels of feature glass at the side and ends of the pool allowing for a fantastic connection to the water and the outdoor gazebo adjacent to the pool.  The gazebo was fitted out with a wide screen and projector for those Sunday afternoon’s of footy fever.  The winter nights were taken care of with an outdoor stainless steel gas fire place.  The result of this was a great feature to the home and one that the family will use all year round.  The clients are thrilled with their new spaces and love the tranquil surrounds.  The focus on these areas is evident, returning lifestyle dividends already to the clients!

As this is a very worthwhile organisation, evermore were proud to be on board for another year to help Shannon raise as much money as possible.  We wish Shannon all the best for this Friday 21st and hope this years Bulimba Fashion Festival is a great success again this year.

The site also had the additional challenge of some fall to the rear of the block, therefore a split level design was incorporated to suit the site conditions. Open plan living highlights the flowing lower level, leading seamlessly through the living & dining spaces to the alfresco dining area to the rear. An intelligent and extensive use of glass and stacker doors ensures plenty of cross ventilation and fresh breezes allowing a pleasant outlook over the low maintenance landscaped gardens and inviting refurbished inground pool.

High quality finishes and attention to detail and proportions were a key feature and making the new design work well with the existing homes space. Separate break away spaces for the parents and kids alike were also part of the brief, including a dedicated study or home office with connection to the separate living areas through feature shutters were also accommodated to suit the clients occasional work from home needs.  The stunning new home now consists of four large bedrooms, all with built in wardrobes, the master boasts a generous sized walk in robe and impeccable luxurious ensuite with freestanding bath, feature pendant lights, double vanity and extra large shower .

To the untrained eye, you would be hard pressed to see that this is not a brand new home, which it practically is, other than the existing facade and some original structural elements.  The current owners are looking forward to now completing the home on the block next door and are as excited about their  second evermore home, which is due for completion soon.
